Hi all,
Does anyone configure ports when installing BOBJ 4.0 on linux suse 10 ? If so do we need to specifically provide the ports for CMS, IFRS, OFRS...etc or should we give a range of ports. If anyone has a similar enivronment like BOBJ 4.0 , ORACLE 11.2g, LINUX SUSE10 operating system... Please share what ports are used. Also what are the ports given for BW BEx queries. Please advise. Thanks in advance, Lala |

Hi Lala,
By default CMS uses 6400 and SIA uses 6410, you can leave it as it is during installation. If you want to mention the ports for FRS then you can do it by going to FRS properties in CMC, do this only if you have port restrictions on the server, otherwise you need not mention port for any of the service. Hi Lala,
It would be wise to ask your network team to open the firewall for a limited number of ports , say 6400 to 6430. While installing and later while configuring, you can configure the services to run on these ports numbers only. If not configured, the services will pick up random ports. Regards, Micro |
