Hello experts,
We just installed BWA 7.2 with the BOE 2.0 blade and BO Accelerator 1.0. Also, we are running BW 7.01 SP10 at this time. We installed BOE 4.02 SP9 to use with the accelerators. Is this the accelerated version of BOE or should we be using X.I 3.2? We are also installing BO Enterprise Suite 4.0. The documentation we've read is not very clear on which version is accelerated. Thanks in advance, Lala |

Hi Lala,
Exploring BWA indexes in Explorer means accelerated. If you index and explore Universes (UNX) or Excel files that is non-accelerated. In BOE 4.02 Patch 9 CMC -> Applications -> Explorer just enter the connection details to your BWA blade, for example: com.businessobjects.datadiscovery.dataprovider.tre x.host=<BWA HOST NAME or IP> com.businessobjects.datadiscovery.dataprovider.tre x.port=30016 Then restart Explorer servers and log in Explorer -> Manage Spaces you should see the BWA indexes listed. Hello Golfi,
It would appear that BusinessObjects Explorer version 4.02 SP 9 was installed on the Explorer 2.0 blade. From what I understand now, 4.0 is not currently supported on that blade. If we are to utilize an accelerated Explorer, we have two options: Continue using the Explorer blade with XI 3.2 (also a separate CMS 3.2 version) or hook up to the BWA blades (as you suggested) using the Explorer 4.02 SP 9 version. This will also be controlled through 4.0 CMS. Either solution will offer accelerated versions of explorer. More than likely, we will not need the Explorer blade and not need to downgrade to 3.2. Regards, Lala |
