Hi Experts,
When using upgrade management tool to export the content from source CMS (XI 3.1) to destination CMS (BI 4.0), I am getting an error "Communication error occurred when trying to connect to server (FWM 01009)". Can anyone help on this? Thanks in advance, Rampa |

Hi Rampa,
Are you getting this error right at the start? Can you ping the 3.1 server? Any firewall in play? How about: telnet <3.1_SERVER_NAME> <CMS_PORT> Try to add the 3.1 IP and Server name in the hosts file where you run Upgrade Management Tool. If all else fails you could try to assign the host IP address in Properties for CMS server in the "Host Identifier" for 3.1 system. Hope this helps. Regards, Lala |

Thanks Lala for the reply.
I tried all your suggestions but it still failed. I got the error when I clicked on Next button after I entered the source and destination CMS logon information. Telnetting to port 6400 and ping only works one way from server 4.0 (destination) to server 3.1 (source). Not sure this is the problem. Regards, Rampa |
