Hello Everyone,
I have an assignment in front of me to upgrade from XI3.1 to BI4 in an Linux environment. I was looking for an option to perform an incremental upgrade to BI4, but it look like we do not have the option of upgrading incrementally on an linux environment through command line using UMT When read more in SDN forums it seems that we have to do a windows installation to use UMT for incremental upgrade. Do we have any other workaround/option/suggestion for it, as creating a different 64 bit windows box for only UMT, wouldnt be feasible. Thanks in advance for your help. Regards, Mirna |

Hello Mirna,
No, there is no workaround except install a BI4 on Windows -> incremental Backup from 3.1 to the BI4 Windows Host -> After all testing installing a BI4 on LINUX -> transporting everything from the Windows BI4 Host to the Linux BI4 Host using LCM. Regards, Golfi |

Thank you Golfi.
If there is no option, then we have to drop the idea of incremental upgrade, as getting new box would'nt be possible. Regards, Mirna |
