Hello Experts,
Been having problem installing CR 2011 on Windows 7. Every time setup ended up with following message; "SAP BusinessObjects Binary has stopped working" And then "Error: The product keycode is not valid. INS00140" appears. I went through related postings and tried suggested solution but no success. Downloaded the fresh copy of CR 2011 from SAP portal, Logged in to machine as admin, Ran setup as an administrator, Ran setup under several different compatibility modes, do not have another version of Crystal or Dashboard installed or previously installed, Do not have KB2467173 / 174 / 175 installed, Used uppercase when inserting license key, uninstalled network security software s, checked temp folder for log files, There are some Visual C ++ Redistributable loaded. Any suggestions on uninstalling them? Thanks and regards, SAPMM |

Hi SAPMM,
Does it show up in Programs and Feature in Control Panel? If it does then uninstall it and then delete all files and folders in: C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\ If it doesn't exist then go into this folder and delete it. C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\InstallData Then search for a file called crpyto*.dll, do you have any and where are they and how many and what are their file sizes? Regards, Portal |

Thanks for the response Portal.
We have Business Objects XI 4 loaded on same machine and uninstalling visual C++ may affect it. Have not tried crypto*.dll file name change test yet. Currently, moving onto next task in my agenda and leaving CR 2011 installation therefore I will mark this as answered. Regards, SAPMM |
