Default How to find information for SAP GUI

Hi all,

I Just put in 01 and it is now sitting saying "connecting to system", but any input would be appreciated. THX
Complete newb to SAP but not IT here. I purchased SAP software online, and installed erp 2005 on windows 2003 ent.

I am configuring SAP GUI 7, and don't know where to find the System connection parameters.
I know the app server, as it is a central install.(computer name)
I found system ID as it was requied in the install (ECC)
but I am not sure how to find the system number.
As I am a complete newb, I do not know how to access SAP backend to even begin to get this info. as it does not have any windows shortcuts to it
I tried sap management console, but not sure what I am looking for.
I also tried googling, but did not find an exact hit.

Any help would be appreciate.

Thank you,

Hi Pepa,

You need to install SAPGUI after a SAP server install.

SAPGUI is the client and it is not installed as part of the server install.

as for the system number, you should know if you isntalled your SAP server, nope? The installation program asked you this question. please review your installation logs or check SAPMMC to getthat info.

If you do not know what I am talking about, try 00.
