Hi,
I have a question that may sound basic... but.. here it goes anyways. How do people manage different paper size and trays in SPAD? Previous Basis at my company created multiple printers, each of them for a different paper size... that sounds strange but may be easier for users. what is your strategy on this? |

Same as yours. Multiple printers for different paper sizes ... of course, transparancy goes right down the sewer if you have several possible combinations or those bit XEROX print stations with more than 6 trays ...
... which leads you exactly to the point where you might want to consider investing in an OMS (OutputManagementSystem). With us the (literally) shit hit the fan when we had customers demanding several electronical forms of raw-data-output in addition to prints-outs. OMS it is now. Mind you, if you ever try for an OMS, please make sure you avoid OCE! It's badly written software, cannot do loadbalancing, has no HA-ability and on top of all is never stable ... if interested, I can elaborate on this point with some more statistics etc. |

Thanks for the info!
I am not looking in OMS solutions. I just have to create 3 additional printers in my systems. |
