Unable to Approve Downloads from Solution Manager

Hi all,

I have been working on installing support packages for BASIS and ABAP in one of our test systems. We have been on version 9 and are trying to get to version 18. I have gotten to Basis 13 and ABAP 13 won't transport without a CRT. I downloaded the CRT but I can't approve it as apparently the approval system works differently since Basis 12 patch.

I found the SAP note 1039404 which is supposed to correct this issue and I uploaded it to SAP, however SNOTE says this note "cannot be implemented" because "SAP Note does not contain valid correction."

So I found a support package CRT to go with Basis 12 patch that is supposed to rectify all these issues but I cannot approve them. Can someone please help me out on this one?

Hi Pepa,

Don't worry, just raise an oss message under component SV-SMG-MAI-APR, where you request to SAP confirm the patches that you have pending of approval.

Hi Lala,

I tried to request an OSS Note and end up in the SAP Support Portal under Help and Support -> Report a Product Error. This basically did a search on the component and came back with a SAPnote which included this component. This SAPnote also cannot be implemented, probably for the same reason the other one can't. I'm stuck.

Edit: I finally was able to actually submit the request. Now I will wait for SAP to confirm. Hopefully after applying these items I will be able to move on.

Ok so I got my items downloaded and I added the CRT to the ABAP patch and immediately got a short dump:

Error when opening an RFC connection.

This is the same error I got when trying to download SAPnotes from SNOTE. I guess the RFC connection is what is messed up since the BASIS 12 patch. Anyone have any ideas?

I deleted the items out of the queue and it seemed to work ok. We'll see how it turns out as I progress.

I'm still not able to confirm items from solution manager to get to the download basket. I get the same error:

Error during vall of SAP back end system

Error calling SAP backend system: Error when opening an RFC connectionSAP-OSS via RFC destination

I'm still not able to figure out this issue.

Configure connection SAPNET_RFC in SM59 and make a connection test and a remote logon.

I get a connection error at logon. I'm guessing something must have messed up when the Basis Patch 12 was transported. I'm not sure how to resolve this issue.
